Two Chicks Return to the Flock

Yesterday afternoon we welcomed Liz back from her winter home. While she was enjoying the southern sun she kept her fingers busy knitting for her charities. For us she knitted two hats and....
the Irish Hiking Scarf, a free pattern available online.
Barbara made this cozy cowl using Wool-Ease yarn.
She searched through my Nana's button box and found the perfect buttons to put on the finishing touches.
She also made another pair of fingerless mitts using more Wool-Ease, a machine washable wool blend yarn.
Kathleen brought a bag full of goodies she finished during the last two weeks. A cozy triangular shawl was the first item out of the pack.
Kathleen admired Barbara's sideways scarf so much she stash-busted one of her own. Pretty colors!
This mistake stitch scarf is a favorite of ours.
And this fuschia scarf was super soft to the touch.
Rounding off the selections was a chenille hat.
The evening group of ladies welcomed Karin back after a hiatus. She worked on the second sock to this one...
Isn't that self patterning yarn neat?! It almost looks like blossoms in the wide band.
Carole started this hat last week.
By the end of the evening she was almost finished with it already. Love those bobbles!
Maureen worked on the same mitts she had last week.

This week she finished them and added them to the inventory.
Beth continued to work on the striped shawl but it looks like it might not make it into this month's donation. But that's ok. We have plenty of other groups to whom we can donate it.
I have to block a shawl that I finished just before midnight last night so photos of it might get into next week's post. Stay tuned to see what happens. In the meantime, keep those needles clicking!
