Some FO's for inventory (that's Finished Objects)

I had a little trouble with the blog this morning but hopefully it is up and running completely fine now.
Beth brought a finished hat to group last night. This will be added to the inventory going to New York Oncology and Hematology for patients undergoing chemo treatments.
She also picked up a shawl that was started by our friend Karin and is finishing it for her. This will go into the same inventory as the hat.
Maureen is about halfway through the second fingerless mitt for our same donation.
I think she got the pattern free online.
Carole spent a little time weaving in the ends on her finished scarf and then started a hat.
The scarf is finished. She used Jojoland Melody yarn, a color-changing yarn in a sport weight.
My friend Elise gave me some hanks of yarn with no labels and after and hour and a half of untangling them I was able to roll them into balls to make this lovely scarf called Frostlight. It was a free pattern on Ravelry. So if you are a member you're lucky enough to have access to this pattern.
I liked the lace of Frostlight so much I decided to try my hand at making it into a triangular shawl. After an initial few inches of plain stockinette stitch I incorporated the lace pattern to make this pretty little shawlette which will also be donated to the NYOH.
And the yarn was donated to our group from Karin. It was purchased to support The Honeysuckle Project for breast cancer research.
I like this so much I just might have to make one for me too!

The Easter Bunny brought a friend....a nasty virus!

There are no Chicks pics this week as I was still hacking up a lung from the viral beast that invaded my system so you'll have to be satisfied with some photos from my grandsons' visit for the Easter holiday.
Moose, who was the original carrier of aforementioned virus, recovered in time to get in a few dance steps to entertain the family...
while Leo showed Great-Grandpa Billy and Great-Aunt Jamie the latest news stories.
Leo arrived for his visit all smiles and giggles but a couple of days later it was a different story.
After our emergency visit to the Urgent Care office on Easter morning we thought some sunshine might be the best prescription for our sad little Leo. He didn't even have the strength to object to being all bound up in the stroller.
Moose heard that the Easter Bunny made his visit and hid some eggs.
It was a beautiful day to hunt for Easter eggs.
 He made quite a haul!
Little by little we are all recovering and slowly the smiles are returning.
And now I even feel well enough to get back to my knitting.

Taking the week off

We have a houseful of sick people this week so I thought it would be a good idea to cancel rather than expose my Chicks to all the germs. See you all next week.

Happy Easter And Look Who's Back!

I found a cute little pattern online somewhere last week. These bunnies took me all of three hours to knit so my grandsons can have something non-chocolate in their Easter baskets.
And today I welcomed Barbara and Kathleen back after their 8 week "sabbatical". They both continued to knit while they were away and brought me some beautiful warm woolies.
Barb knitted this stash buster lengthwise.
These fingerless mitts were made using a Noro yarn. Pretty colors!
 Kathleen knitted two shawlettes...

three hats, a pair of mittens...
 two scarves....
 two baby sets...
 Check out the cute buttons.
 Another Gansey sweater...
 a baby sophisticate cardigan...
 a top-down cardigan and....
she's finishing up a ribbed scarf. Whew! That's a lot of knitting!
Beth and Carole joined me tonight. Beth finished the hat from last week.
And wore a beautiful cabled sweater she made.
Carole continued to add length to her scarf.
And as I promised last week, here is the finished purple Daybreak shawl.
And look who stopped by for a visit! I missed those kissable cheeks!
Leo's Mommy knitted his cute little vest and is working on Moose's too.
I hope you all enjoy the rest of the week and I'll see you next Tuesday for some more knitting news.
