Four FO's this week

I finished three items this week. The first is a scarf using Mini Mochi yarn from Crystal Palace. I love the long lengths of color in this yarn because it lends itself so well for automatic color blocking. The pattern is free on Ravelry called ABABA. And that little strand of yarn on the side... it's the 11 inches that was left when I finished binding off the stitches. That was cutting it close!
Karin asked a bunch of friends if they would like to knit a 12 inch square with lots of texture to be assembled into an afghan for a blind friend of ours. I can't wait to see all the collection finished.
My last completed project is another Willow cowl, also a free pattern on Ravelry. It uses sock weight yarn and it's a good "TV" knitting pattern, that is it's easy enough to knit and watch a favorite program.
Beth donated a sampler scarf which she made while refreshing her knitting skills.
Dorah's scarf is a 22 row repeat and it takes 2 hours to make one repeat of the pattern. So a few more months and this should be ready to warm a cold neck.
Do you remember last Friday when I took you along for a walk? Well, this is what one of the trees looked like then...
and these were the pumpkins for sale on a lawn, just waiting for a funny jack-o-lantern face to be carved.
Just four days later there is a golden carpet of leaves under that tree and it's branches are nearly naked.
And if you had your eye on a certain pumpkin you're too late. There isn't much left from which to choose.
The next time I go for a walk there probably won't be any left at all. Pretty soon I'll have beautiful snowy scenes to show you. I guess I better knit fast so I can take the time to go for walks in the winter cold.
