A field trip to France and Brazil, all in one day!

The afternoon session of the Chicks was held at a different location today. We heard about a free concert at The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. We didn't forget to bring our knitting.
The performers were Hot Tuesday, a Gypsy Jazz Ensemble of bass, three guitars, and two violins. The musicians were fantastic and whisked us away to a smoky Parisian nightclub with their dance music of the 1930's and then we found ourselves sunning on the beach at Ipanema, Brazil with the smooth sounds of their Bossa Nova. We had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon
This evening found Margaret casting on stitches for a hat.
Dorah reached the point at which she can begin decreasing for the crown of her baby hat.
It wasn't until Dorah mentioned the Green Bay Packers that Carole realized she was making a Helix hat in team colors.
Barbara B. ran out of white yarn so she had to wait until she returned home to finish the last few rounds of her blanket.
Margaret finished the ties for her ear flap hat.
And Carole added a sweet little preemie hat to the inventory.
Three more critters came to visit this week too. I've almost memorized the crochet pattern for the hedgehog and after seeing a picture of the foxes, I figured I didn't have to buy the pattern to knit one. They were by the same designer who made the Teddy that a few of us made last week so I just had to adjust color placement.
Who knows? Maybe next week there'll be another kind of critter to add to the bunch.
