We're back inside

The cold air hit this morning so we had to knit inside today. Janna bought some gorgeous yarns at a trunk show last week so she stood in the background on the right, winding them into balls so she could start knitting them.

Jan A. brought her finished 1898 hat and did a darn good job making it!

Margaret's turned out nice too!

Barbara B. wore her new lovely scarf that we saw her working on over the summer. I know it's a Lisa Hannes pattern but I need a sec to remember the name...Nope! It's a Dee O'Keefe pattern called Anisah.

But this is a Lisa Hannes up next on her needles called Quiet Journey.

It's going to be a beauty too!

Jan A. started The Age of Brass and Steam scarf and learned how to make a tab cast on with the help of Youtube. I can't state enough how wonderful it is to have video tutorials at the touch of a finger!

And here is her first shawl started all by herself and a little help from Youtube.

We're so happy Jan P. is back in the flock! She worked on her Irma hat and is nearing the finish line.

Barbara K. finished her first 1898 hat and is starting another.

And Janna has begun the decrease section on her 1898.

I could have been finished with mine had I not miscalculated the row count, causing me to frog back about 20 rows! I'm back on track and making the decreases now.

 It looks like all future get-togethers will be indoors for the rest of the season unless we get a freakishly warm day. All the more reason to keep those needles clicking!

Just the four of us

The two Barbaras and Liz joined me for a cool afternoon of knitting inside.

I finished a cowl using the texture pattern my daughter designed and inspiration from Casapinka's emPower People Cowl to make a nifty and very warm piece. The yarn is a blend of merino and silk so it is very lightweight but very cozy.

Last night I casted on, cast on??? whatever, I started a 2x2 ribbed hat. Such a quick and easy pattern.

Liz made good progress on the hat she started last week. She's making it long enough to fold the brim up for extra warmth.

Barbara K. just started a hat using Encore yarn.

The pattern comes from her copy of "One Skein Wonders" which was published by Cascade Yarns.

Barbara B. had been working on her Flax sweater for herself but it was being naughty so it's in time out until it decides to behave. In its place is the continuation of the Anisah shawl.

The Malabrigo yarn makes beautiful cables! The true color is more like the previous picture. This is going to be a real beauty!

I have so many ideas floating around in my head but not enough hours in the day to execute them all. So I better get a move on and finish some more projects around here. Keep those needles clicking!

Outdoor knitting

It was a warm one today but the humidity didn't kick in until everyone had gone home.

Liz made a lot of progress on her cowl.

Carole worked on a beautiful royal blue hat.

It's called the Meshy Squishy Toque.

Jan worked on her Irma hat. She had to hurry home before the thunderstorms so she could comfort her poor pup who is terrified of storms. There was one predicted to hit right around the time she would get home.

Maureen took two identical skeins of Noro yarn but started one ball from the outside of the skein, and the other from the inside to make the Noro Striped Scarf, an oldy but goody.

Barbara B. worked on a shawl for herself called Anisah that has cables running all the way up the edge.

Janna made good progress on her Totally Biased cowl. The colors are changing in the most perfect way.

I'm working on a shawl for myself in between charity knitting. This is called the Cheri Chevron Shawl. I'm using a mohair and a sock yarn and I love how it looks.

Knitting brings us such joy and we all feel as though it helped us get through the toughest times in life. I hope you feel this way too. Keep those needles clicking and look for us next week.
