Sweaters Everywhere

The afternoon ladies all seem to be on a sweater knitting kick. In the last three weeks Kathleen has finished three sweaters and they are all darling. The pink one on her lap has various shaped buttons all the same color. It's really cute. And the striped blue sweater is so soft that I just want to cuddle it. The set she's holding is for a newborn when he goes home from the hospital. Can't you just picture a sweet little bundle all cuddled up and ready to start life in that cute little set?

Elaine's eyelet sweater is coming along. She has one sleeve to go and then assembly starts. I'm excited to see it finished!

I'm working on an "all boy" hoodie. I finished the body of the hoodie last night and started one of the sleeves. I hope to have it finished by next Tuesday.

The ladies in the evening group are continuing to work on their ponchos and blankets. Because they are so big, there wasn't much different about them to show you this week. But as soon as they are completed, there will be photos.

Work in Progress and A Finished Birthday Gift

As a donation project I've started a hooded baby sweater called Windowpane from a pattern that I found at Trumpet Hill Yarn Store (www.trumpethill.com). I finished one sleeve, I'm almost finished with the second (they are the striped pieces) and I've knitted the one piece body up to the armholes. Next up, I have to knit everything together and then pick up stitches to finish the hood and buttonband portions. It's going remarkably fast.

I'm using Plymouth Encore and Colorspun Encore in worsted weight.

My finished scarf is for my sister's birthday on the 15th of this month. She doesn't own a computer (CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?!) so I don't have to worry about her seeing this too soon.

The pattern is from www.brooklyntweed.blogspot.com and is called the Noro Striped Scarf. I used Wisdom Poems yarn. It's a pattern which I heard someone call "coma knitting" meaning it's so easy you could knit it in your sleep. I think it took all of three days to make. I'd say that's easy!

Time for lunch and then back to the knitting needles.

Christmas 2008

Christmas was even more fun this year now that Moose is 21 months old. The only gift I knitted this year was a hoodie for Moose.

It fit him perfectly as you can see and he wore it everyday. I'd say he liked it!

Moose and Uncle Drew enjoyed a couple of DVDs that Santa delivered. I think they both know the whole dialogue from "Finding Nemo".

One of Moose's favorite toys was a tunnel to go with his pup tent. I tried crawling into the tunnel with him and made it just fine. Getting out, on the other hand, was a different story!
